How we work

Editorial policy

islas24 is an independent digital outlet covering the Canary Islands. This page explains how we produce our content and what readers can expect from us.

Artificial intelligence with human review

We use artificial intelligence tools to draft news articles from verified sources. No article is published automatically: every text goes through a human editor, who checks the facts against the original sources, edits and approves publication. AI speeds up the work; editorial responsibility always remains human.

Sources and trust tiers

We work with a tiered trust system. We prioritise official sources — Canary and Spanish state administrations, European bodies, official gazettes — followed by wire agencies and established press, and finally sector publications. Every story links to its original source whenever possible.

For content about procedures and requirements (visas, immigration, fees), we additionally run an official-page monitoring system: we check the relevant government pages daily and display the date of the last verification in our guides and tools.

Corrections

Errors are corrected as soon as they are detected. If you find an inaccuracy in any islas24 content, write to us and we will review it as a priority. Substantial corrections are reflected in the content's update date.

Comments

Reader comments go through pre-moderation. We do not publish content that breaks the law, incites hatred or constitutes spam. Comments are anonymous: we require no registration and collect no personal data for commenting.

What we don't do

We do not publish sponsored content without identifying it as such. We do not provide legal, tax or investment advice: our guides and tools are informational and always point to official sources and licensed professionals.
