Two men stabbed in Morro Jable brawl, one seriously injured
The incident occurred in the early hours at a shopping centre on Avenida del Saladar, in Pájara. One of the injured was airlifted by medical helicopter to Gran Canaria.
Two men were stabbed — one of them seriously — during a brawl in the early hours of Sunday 12 July 2026 at a shopping centre in Morro Jable, in the municipality of Pájara (Fuerteventura). The information was confirmed by the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2.
According to the 1-1-2 statement, the alert was received at 05:38, when a call came in reporting a knife fight at a shopping centre in Morro Jable on Avenida del Saladar. Emergency services were immediately mobilised.
Condition of the injured
The Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) provided an assessment of both victims at the time of initial treatment. One of them sustained stab wounds described as moderate, barring complications, and was transferred by SUC medical ambulance to the Hospital General de Fuerteventura.
The second man had a serious stab wound to the chest. He was transported by medical ambulance to the Morro Jable helipad and then airlifted by SUC medical helicopter to the Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria, where he was admitted, according to emergency service sources.
Both men were stabilised at the local health centre before being transferred to hospital.
Resources deployed
CECOES 1-1-2 activated the Canarian Emergency Service, which deployed a medical ambulance, a medical helicopter and a basic life-support ambulance. Local Police officers, Guardia Civil units and Bomberos de Pájara firefighters also attended the scene.
The Guardia Civil opened an investigation and, according to sources consulted, is working to establish the circumstances that led to the brawl. Firefighters and Local Police collaborated with the other emergency services on the ground.
Consistent accounts
The various sources agree on the essential facts. The official CECOES 1-1-2 log places the alert at 05:38, while reports from the EFE news agency, carried by several outlets, state that the emergency call to the 112 operations room was received "just after 05:30", and that the caller reported a brawl in which several people had been injured and required medical assistance.
The scene of the incident is identified in the official statement as Avenida del Saladar, in the municipality of Pájara, and is described as a shopping centre in Morro Jable, a town in the southern part of that municipality in Fuerteventura.
No further details have been released regarding the identities of those involved or the specific circumstances that triggered the fight. The investigation remains in the hands of the Guardia Civil.
