Man, 53, dies after car crashes into house in Mogán
The crash occurred on Saturday night on the GC-505 road as it passes through the municipality of Mogán. The driver suffered a cardiac arrest during transfer to hospital and could not be revived.
A 53-year-old man died after the vehicle he was driving collided with a house on the GC-505 road as it passes through the municipality of Mogán, in the south of Gran Canaria. The Centro Coordinador de Emergencias y Seguridad (CECOES) 112 of the Gobierno de Canarias confirmed the incident, saying its operations room received the alert at 22:13.
According to information released by the 112 service, the call reported that a vehicle had crashed into a house and that the occupant required medical assistance. Upon receiving the alert, the 112 service immediately mobilised the necessary emergency resources.
Response and transfer
Personnel from the Servicio de Urgencias Canario (SUC) attended the scene, deploying a mobile intensive care ambulance and a basic life support ambulance, alongside Guardia Civil officers. Medical staff assessed and treated the man before beginning to transfer him to hospital.
During the journey, the man suffered a cardiac arrest, prompting paramedics to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Treatment continued at the Centro de Salud de Doctoral, in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, where his death was ultimately confirmed despite the efforts of the medical team.
Investigation under way
Guardia Civil officers attended the scene of the crash and drew up the corresponding report, which will be used to establish the circumstances in which the vehicle collided with the house.
According to information published by La Provincia, authorities have so far not released further details about the possible causes of the crash or the damage caused to the property.
