Man, 24, seriously injured after crashing into tunnel wall in Guía de Isora
The vehicle struck the interior wall of the Tejina tunnel on the TF-82 in the early hours of Sunday morning. The injured man was transferred to Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria with multiple trauma injuries.
A 24-year-old man was seriously injured in the early hours of Sunday, 5 July 2026, after the vehicle he was driving struck the interior wall of a tunnel in the Tenerife municipality of Guía de Isora, according to the Canary Islands Government's emergency coordination centre, CECOES 112.
The crash occurred at 00:38 on the TF-82 road, at the Tejina tunnel. At that time, CECOES 112 received an alert reporting that a person required medical assistance following a collision between a vehicle and the tunnel's interior wall. The coordination centre immediately mobilised emergency resources.
Medical assessment and transfer
According to the assessment provided by the Canarian Emergency Medical Service (SUC), the injured man initially presented with multiple trauma injuries of a serious prognosis. SUC personnel treated and stabilised him at the scene before transferring him by medical ambulance to Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.
